This black statue of Cleopatra VII is currently at the Hermitage Museum at St Petersburg, Russia. Cleopatra VII was the last Egyptian Pharaoh – after her reign, Egypt became part of the Roman Empire. This depiction is consistent with her Greek heritage – she is holding a cornucopia and her headdress is adorned with snakes.
