Misprinting and Misinterpreting Can Cause Grave Consequences

The holy book of Islam is thought to be Allah’s words. Whatever you come across in Quran, know that is what Allah would say and think. Misinterpreting his words is a grave sin, but misprinting the book is even a graver sin. The original version is to be preserved, with no alterations here and there. However, the case of bad printing occurred and causes a political crisis.

In 1999, due to the bad copy-pasting of Quran, the entire Kuwaiti parliament was put under the political pressure, thus being dissolved. The minister for justice and Islamic affairs was accused of deliberate misprinting, with the comment of “trying to disfigure the faith of Muslims”.
